When you start a deathmatch skirmish game with 2 AI allies and 3 AI opponents and you are covenant immediatly build a temple, factory, hall and summit. (make sure to build the temple first) when you get your leader lock up your base and use your chopper or ghost and leader to take loads of bases.first spawn 7 hunters,3 wraiths,2 locusts,3 grunts, 2 scarabs and a couple of engineers.(this will take a bit to do) while your allies are fending off the enemy unlock your base and sneak around the action. send the scarabs to one base, the leader and wraiths to another and the rest to a different one. if you are starting to run low on units or an unguarded base is being attacked do not be afraid to pull out of there....PLAY SAFE!(to some extent)

choose 3v3,frozen valley, when the game starts build and look for resources.build another warthog and research gunner(go anders as upgrades costs half and are speeded up).take them to the enemy base in the MIDDLE and attack it.head to the spire of healing set up there as global rally point then move to the base.when you are training unique units and marines and flamethrowers and spartans let them get to the rally point before sending them to battle.if all goes well you should destroy the base and make the game easier(unless your al helper bes a twat, thats what happens to me sometimes, lololololol)

when you suspect an enemy scout pass by when you are building up e.g hornets. the enemy will create wolverines.instead of producing hornets now, produce cobras and send them into the enemy. they will have a hard time killing cobras as cobras are counters of wolverines. the enemy may build counters for vehicles as well so protect the cobras with hornets or scorpions.

Colonies Dormant By Nairb |
If you want to keep all the Colonies dormant, build a Hornet for each, then build a few Scorps or Gauss Hogs and clear all the flood around the colonies (make sure you kill the Flood Launchers!!!) Once a colony is clear, fly a Hornet over it and move your tanks/hogs onward.
Once all the Colonies are killed and guarded, take your ground units and charge the Gravemind. With no colonies, a few tank Y attacks or a few Gauss/rocket attacks will crush it.

Start up Scarab on easy.
Build a few Supply Pads to get your resources flowing.
If you want, upgrade your MAC.
Keep your units in cover around your base.
With Emperor, you can keep pelting the Scarab with MACs. You'll be able to blow it up with out the wall breaking or units blowing the Nodes up.

Effective army building. By scarab king |
|
UNSC: Start by building two supply pads and a barracks. If you are playing as forge then your supply pads are heavy ones. Send your warthog out to find resource crates and collect what you find. Wait untill you have 700 resources then build a reactor and 4 marines. As soon as possible research new blood to give your marines an extra guy. Research the gunner for the warthog and when completed start to find and claim new bases sites. Build a field armoury and two turrets on your original base site. When you can, upgrade your base to a fortress. on the extra build sites, build another reactor and a vehicle depot. Build a scorpion and ready it for base defence. On your second base site build an airpad, barracks, two supply pads and another vehicle depot. Train spartans and their upgrades. Upgrade reactors so you have a tech level of 4. Build a vulture and its upgrade. Train 5 more3 marines and 2 scorpions. Upgrade scorpions as much as you can and send your army into battle. Remember to built turrets on your bases to help fight off enemy troops and give them the extra bonus depending on what your ai helper says. Up grade all supply pads to heavy ones to get more resources faster. When your army is goin into battle, be sure to train more units as the first army is in battle and also remember to upgrade your units as much as you can, and if you are forge, save 1800 resoureces to upgrade scorpion into grizzly. Have fun!

"Ubre" Unit Chaos Tactic By BOOMCHUCALUCA |
|
This tactic is executed by starting out with an apparent rush. What your enemy doesnt know however is that you were never intending to rush him. You could call this a fakeout rush. To do this, Start out by making one temple or reactor, and two supply pads or warehouses. Now once you have enough supplies, build one more reactor and if the leaders ubre unit is not in the main base already (such as the scarab) then build what you need to construct that unit (such as the vulture in the air pad). Then use whatever vehicle unit that the main base has (i.e. Warthog, Brute Chopper, whatever your leader has in that regard) and make about five units, then upgrade them to the second upgrade. Now, once you have this done wait just long enough to get enough supplies to upgrade both reactors to advanced reactors or the temple to the final power level (It would really be helpful if you have taken over at least one more base by now and used all spaces for supply buildings). Now for the fake attack. Send your units off to attack the enemy's main base. Now your enemy thinks that you are trying to rush him so he will prepare to destroy that type of unit. Leave the units he is building to counter alone as you want fail the rush because now you are ready for the Ubre construction. Now that your enemy is preparing for a rush, you need to build an ubre unit. If you had enough supply pads during the rush then by now you should have enough supplies to build one scarab or several vultures. Defend your bases in case the enemy tries to attack and when you feel confident enough to attack do so, and never give any slack. If the enemy does successfully defend just remember that during the ubre attack be finishing any upgrades on your rush units and start construction those in case you fail. Even if you fail, most of the time by now the enemy is scrambling and not really thinking clearly which causes him to make mistakes giving you a window for victory.

Brute Cheiftan Rush By Mouth of War |
Leader: Brute Cheiftan
works 1v1, 2v2 , 3v3 ,or all: Best 1v1 but can work 2v2 and 3v3
average time taken to execute strat/rush: rush should be ready to attack at full strength within 7mins of starting.
Description of Strat/rush:
ok at the start of the game build a temple first, then another 4 warehouses. You should be left with like 50 resources left, while the temple and warehouses are being built, take your scout and start grabbing resources around the map. Once you have enough for a fall build a hall in your last space on your base. Ok now once ur leaders been created, start walking towards the victims base, keep him at a safe distance until your ready to attack. Ok now start building brute's, 8 of them to be exact. once your 8 brutes have been built, teleport them and then make them attack the victim's base with your leader. Now flick back to your base, set the rally point to the teleporter and start spamming a mix of anti infantry jackles, grunts and maybe 1 or 2 hunters. If all goes to plan, they should be overwhelmed.
How this strat/rush is countered: By your opponent spamming anti infantry at the start of the game expecting for your brute rush.

Counterting Rush By Mouth of War |
Many people Rush meaning in less than 6 minutes they will be attacking with a decent army.
Players often whine about this and say its cheating. We'll its not it is very simple, fast to counter a rush.
Facing Elephant Rush as Covenant:
The most important in any countering of a rush is to SCOUT your enemy. Go to their base investigate what they are up to, what they are bullding. In this case they will be using the Elephant rush. Build Jackals the perfect Ani-Infantry unit the Covenant has agains Marines and Flamethrowers. Build Hunters to kill the Elephant and Counter attck them.
Scouting is vital in countering rushes, if they are Warthog rushing you build hunters. In every counter rush scout, build anti thos units and then counter attck that simple to end a rush and win.

|
Covenant Rush By Inner Peace |
While either faction can "rush" an enemy effectively, the Covenant has a rare advantage in the form of their Gravity Lift. Place any Covenant unit in the Grav Lift and they'll be teleported instantly to the Covenant Leader's location. Use this to your advantage by stealthily approaching an enemy base with your Leader. Then, send your army onto the Grav Lift and employ an immediate stealth attack.
Every Campaign level and every round of Skirmish should teach you something new. Play to win, sure, but also play to learn. Pay close attention to your opponent's tactics and how your own strategies play out and you can't help but improve with every session. Good luck on the battlefield!
|
|
Expand By Inner Peace |
Even a fully upgraded base can't hope to accommodate every structure you need for a successful match, so make it an early priority to take over an expansion base location. Remember that many of these expansion sites are defended by a neutral faction, so take at least four units with you to ensure you don't fail in your attempt.
Try ignoring the turrets on these neutral bases as well. Instead, attack the base itself. Once destroyed, the turrets will self-destruct, leaving just a few basic infantry units to mop up.
Also, if your second base stands between you and the likely approach of your enemy, consider using your first base as a hub for mining resources and researching technology. Then, use your second base for your unit building structures.
|
|
Specialized By Inner Peace |
When making your initial battle preparation, try focusing heavily on one or two types of units. While a well balanced army is important, you don't want a hodgepodge of random, basic units wandering about. Instead, build a strong foundation centered on two unit types and then augment them with additional units afterward.
If, say, you're playing Professor Anders, you might want to invest in anti-vehicle Gremlins and her super-unit Hornet variant, the HAWK. Then, once those units are established, try adding a trio of Spartans and other units handpicked to counter your opponent's strategy.
|
|
Enviroment Use By Inner Peace |
Whether in Campaign or Skirmish, the game's maps are teeming with environmental advantages. Look to make use of these as often as possible. In short, never leave sniper towers unmanned or cover unused. Units protected in these structures can take many times more damage than normal. If there's a neutral Reactor or Supply Pad to be taken over, storm it as soon as possible. The player that controls most of the environment's map-specific features will have a tangible advantage.
Don't underestimate the importance of the supply crates scattered across the map either. Taking the time to search these out and farming them can make an enormous difference in your early preparations.
|
|
Structure Destruction By Inner Peace |
|
While the ultimate goal should be to annihilate an enemy base, try taking aim at individual structures if you find yourself in a losing battle. Wreak havoc with your opponent's infrastructure by destroying Supply Pads, Barracks, and the like, forcing them to rebuild their losses rather than build up their army
|
|
Battle Heal By Inner Peace |
|
Whenever you enter battle as the UNSC, don't forget to make instant use of the Spirit of Fire's Heal and Repair ability (press up on the D-Pad). Drop it immediately once your units are set up (you don't want them running out of the area of effect). This will make them substantially more difficult to bring down and tip the advantage heavily in your favor.
|
|
Spaare the Jacked By Inner Peace |
The UNSC Spartan's most potent weapon is the ability to take control of an enemy vehicle. Not only does the enemy lose a unit when you successfully jack a vehicle, but the Spartan immediately makes that unit more powerful.
When you enter a battle with Spartans at your control, be careful to pick out the enemy vehicle you want to jack and make certain none of your units are attacking that vehicle. This way, you won't be wielding an already damaged unit when you take control.
|
|
Leader Forte By Inner Peace |
|
Each of the six leaders (three per faction) offers a very unique set of abilities and special units. Always focus heavily on at least one of these abilities. For example, Commander Cutter is the only UNSC leader that can train ODST units, an exceptionally potent variation on the standard Marine unit. So focus your resources and research priorities around unlocking access to these units. The Prophet of Regret's Cleansing Beam can tear through buildings in a hurry, making him an ideal choice for rushing an enemy base. Always err on the side of your leader's strengths.
|
|
Rarely Scroll By Inner Peace |
Halo Wars is designed with the D-Pad in mind for almost all of your quick navigation needs. Use it in lieu of scrolling across the map whenever possible. If your base is attacked, don't scroll. Instead, tap right on the D-Pad to instantly warp to that location. Tap left to quick-travel to your bases and down to cycle through your armies. Precious seconds are wasted when scrolling, and you'll need every one of them against a skilled opponent or Heroic or Legendary A.I.
|
|
Peek-A-Boo By Inner Peace |
Gathering intel on your opponent is a must when deciding among what units to build and upgrade. Give your opponent a few minutes to prep and then send a lone throwaway unit (such as the Warthog or Ghost you begin with) to drive through your opponent's base.
Look closely at what kinds of units are milling about, and what structures they've built. If their primary base boasts a single Barracks, with nothing but Supply Pads and Reactors filling out the rest of the slots, you know they're powering up for a tech heavy army. And that's a perfect time to strike with a rush attack.
|
|
Trigger Happy By Inner Peace |
The moment you engage in battle with an enemy, you should already be plying the Right Trigger to highlight specific units to employ their special attacks and focus on the units they're best matched against.
It's not enough to build a well balanced army. You must also use them efficiently in battle. For example, if you're sporting Spartans and your opponent rolls in with Scorpions, send your troops to jack the Scorpions. Use your Flamethrower units to take out enemy infantry and your Marines to shoot down enemy aircraft. If you're not focusing on what you're best against, a skilled enemy will make short work of your army.

Elephant Rush By Mouth of War |
The typical Elephant Rush as many have heard is Full supply pad base with an Elepahnt playing as Cutter. Since I did not see any Elephant Rush Source here I decided to post the one I use when I play.
Starting I build an Elephant followed by 3 supply pads and 1 reactor. While the elephant is being built My Warthog is gather supply crates, When the elephant is done I quickly send it to the enemy base (NOTE:1v1).
Once the reactor is done I fill my other spaces with supply pads. My elepahnt is placed at a safe but close distance and locked down. I begin production of troops based on what the computer is building.
The reason I use 1 reactor is for the sole purpose of Spartans. I find playing Legendary that they bring Warthhogs and run over my marines. And plus it gives you the back up incase any other vehicle is build that can ruin your whole plan.
Marines take care of any infantry and air, and Flame throwers are important incase of Jackals or other Flamethrowers, and Spartans help against everything and Jack Everything except ofcourse Scarabs.
Well you keep attacking and building.
(Optional Tip: Always keep 600 supplies for a MAC Blast just to be sure :D)
Well this is my Strat Hope you like and and Have fun playing.

unsc base build up By woody |
the best way to get a STRONG force not just one hero hopping around is being unsc and take doctor anderson first you build 4 supply pads in the first 4 slots then put a reactor in the back now while this is building use your warhawk scout to get crates in once this is all build you should upgrade the suply pads now research fortress then build a field armoury and research reserves now start researching gunner in the main base once you got that warhawk upgrade build saround 6 more hawks it should go prety fast since you got reserves now capture a base near you ( be ware forruner forts are hard without the grenadier upgrade ) the rebbel bases are quite easy to kill concentrate on the infantry first they throw grenades with deal alot of damage to ur units the turrets deal much less damage if ud compare the two while ur capturing the fort build another reactor now you should have all ur 8 main base slots used now start building up ur other side base you should put at least 6 supply pads down dont bother upgrading them yet instead you use that money to research or build another reactor its cheaper to build another one but takes another building slot for rushing id sugest just building another one since you dont need the 4 power yet now once you got 3 energy research the guess turret in ur main base now ur warhawks should give a real nice punch you can start building hawks in both of ur basses now at the same time now ull have 20 hawks in no time and off you go to the enemy base ( andersons special abilty makes all upgrades research 50% faster and 50% cheaper ( only goes for unit upgrades supply pads still cost 225 to upgrade )this can only be done with anderson and if done proper u can have urelf 2 bases and 20 hawks under 5 mins while most other players are still teching up you already got the punch requird to take some one out this works best on 2v2s or 3v3s dont bother using it on deathmatch mode or 1v1s
-----------------------------------------------------
should ur rush fail for some reason you can always resort to hawks there the unsc''s best air units in my opinion and rip everything apart from scarabs to vulures there costly to produce with only 2 bases though.
hope this litle guide is helpfull to you all have fun pwning ppl because this stratagy works fine for me

Air Raids By mrcrazy_monkey |

The monthy updates mention air raids as being a superior way of attacking an undefended base. Banshees seem to be the best unit for an air raid by using a "hit and run" tactic because of their speed. In mass numbers they might just be an unstoppable force.
